GEM OS®1:
Technology with a history of safe and effective use

A fully synthetic, biocompatible material
Composed of beta tricalcium phosphate (ß-TCP) and recombinant platelet-derived growth factor (rhPDGF-BB), a recombinant human platelet-derived growth factor,
GEM OS1 is designed to fill bone defects and provide a “scaffold” for new bone formation and the promotion of cellular growth. Both components have been approved by the FDA and are chemically identical to those found in the GEM 21S® device approved in the U.S. and Canada for bone regeneration in the jaw.

Easy to use
The GEM OS1 kit contains a package of ß-TCP and a syringe containing a solution of 0.3 mg/ml rhPDGF-BB. After mixing, the graft material is packed into and around the fusion site using standard surgical techniques to complete the procedure.

A less invasive procedure
Because there is no need to harvest autologous bone, fusion procedures using GEM OS1 have potential benefits, such as decreased pain and anesthesia time.
