The Foot and Ankle Fusion Study
Like the foundation of a building, your feet and ankles are the
foundation of your body. They support the weight of your body and,
after all, are what allow you to get around.
When your hindfoot or
ankle become painful and you can no longer get adequate or sustained
relief from conservative care, surgery may become your best alternative.
The Foot and Ankle Fusion Study is now enrolling
patients to determine the safety and effectiveness of the
investigational Augment™
Injectable in
creating bone union as compared to the current standard of care,
which is foot and/or ankle fusion using bone harvested from another
area of your body.
Qualifying for the study
In order to be eligible to participate in
the Foot and Ankle Fusion clinical research study all patients
must meet the inclusion criteria. These criteria are carefully
thought out to include those patients who are the best possible
candidates for the clinical research study. General inclusion criteria
include:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have a bone defect requiring fusion surgery in the hindfoot
or ankle
This is just a partial list of criteria for acceptance into the
clinical research study. Only a clinical research study staff member
can make that determination, but you can take the first step by
calling to find out more.
